Zoo tomorrow
Annie is a big fan of the Raffi song "We're going to the zoo" which she calls "Zoo tomorrow!" She especially likes it when John changes the words to say "Look at all the Annies swimmin' in the water" ...or swinging in the trees...
Annie and I went to the Santa Fe zoo a few weeks before Eric's arrival, but John had never been. It's just the right size for a 2 year old with limited attention span. It takes about an hour to hour and a half to see all the animals, including time on the playground.
Last Saturday we took another trip with John and Eric.
This time, the animals seemed to have much more energy, maybe because it had cooled down a bit.
A black swan tried to get to us through the netting next to a small bridge. Luckily he didn't seem to be able to hop up and over the side!
The peacocks are free to roam between exhibits and hop over fences and onto the trail at their whim. We had a couple of pea-hens walking with us on the bridge for a while, and then almost ran over one of the males when we had to backtrack around a section that was closed (there was a new baby gibbon to avoid!)
Someday we'll have to go back so Eric can see what he slept through. :)
